TORONTO – AthletesCAN, the association of Canada’s national team athletes, released the following statement in response to an open letter sent to Boxing Canada
On behalf of over 121 current and former national boxing stakeholders, we are sharing their public letter of their ongoing struggles.
We support these athletes as they continue their internal processes and advocate for a better boxing culture, while we look to further our ongoing work with the Minister’s office, and fellow sport partners
We commend the International Boxing Association (IBA) for taking swift action over the past week in response to the open letter by our members. There is no place for toxic leadership within the Canadian sport system now or in the future.
