Our Brand

In 2022, AthletesCAN unveiled its new website and commemorative 30th anniversary logo. AthletesCAN.ca is our new online digital home, marking a shift to a Canadian-based domain for the first time in our history, while our new logo highlights three decades of service representing over 6,000 eligible members.

Preserving tradition, the logo maintains the time-honoured AthletesCAN mark – a triumphant athlete silhouetted within a Maple Leaf situated above our name, celebrating both our Canadian pride, and the collective empowerment that with the right support, our athletes can achieve their dreams.

The new website, anniversary logo, and accompanying suite of promotional assets were designed by inMotion, an award-winning digital and video marketing agency based in Ottawa with experience serving fellow sport partners including the Sport Information Resource Centre (SIRC), Bowls Canada, Curling Canada and Taekwondo Canada. 

Since our founding on July 20, 1992, AthletesCAN has maintained its dedication to building an athlete-centred sport system and a safe sport experience for all.

AthletesCAN’s staff, operations, work, and network depend on traditional Indigenous territories to provide us physical space, sustenance, safety, and community to work, live, and play. We respectfully acknowledge that our members hail from across the country representing the many traditional, treaty, and unceded territories of all the Inuit, Métis, and First Nations people of Turtle Island.

We acknowledge that our ability to live and work on these lands is a direct benefit of policies of expulsion and assimilation of Indigenous peoples during the time of settlement and Confederation, and since. The harms of these policies are many and are still being felt in Indigenous communities today. We express gratitude towards the Indigenous peoples who have and will continue to steward these lands. We affirm our commitment to enacting the 94 Calls to Action by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, especially the Calls to Action which directly relate to Sport, No. 87-94.
