Bound State Software selected to build AthleteHUB Initiative

AthleteHUB Developed by Bound State Software. Funded by the Government of Canada

TORONTO / VANCOUVER – AthletesCAN, the association of Canada’s national team athletes, is pleased to announce that Bound State Software has been identified as the successful developer of the forthcoming AthleteHUB Initiative.

A Vancouver-based web agency with a passion for collaborating with nonprofit organizations, Bound State Software was selected from among over 20 prospective vendors that responded to AthletesCAN’s Request For Proposals. With a vision to design and build products that inspire and spur a positive change, Bound State will be responsible for designing the new online resource that will serve as a centralized one-stop shop for Canadian national team athletes.

"We were impressed by the depth and strength of proposals we received for the AthleteHUB project. AthletesCAN is excited to be working with a partner like Bound State Software who have a history of working with change-driven organizations and delivered a strong vision of what the AthleteHUB can be.”

Andrea Proske - AthletesCAN Vice President

Originally announced in February and funded by Sport Canada, the AthleteHUB will house a wealth of information and resources that are currently available across the Canadian sport system, consolidated into a single, new space.

The Hub will include general athlete onboarding and support, safe sport and educational resources, eLearning modules, information on funding, the Canadian Olympic and Paralympic Committees along with Commonwealth Sport Canada and their respective Athletes’ Commissions/Councils, Game Plan – Canada’s Total Athlete Wellness Program, an athlete data collection tool, etc. The AthleteHUB will integrated into the new AthletesCAN.ca by March 2024. Bound State Software will work with AthleteHUB Project Manager Nicolas Rouleau, who joined the organization over the summer, as well as Lindsay Smith – AthletesCAN’s Manager of Athlete Projects & Operations.

“I am delighted to be working with Bound State Software as the chosen developer for the AthleteHUB. Bound State’s extensive experience working with nonprofit organizations is a testament to their commitment to meaningful causes, and I believe their unique perspective will result in a terrific product. Their expertise will play a pivotal role in shaping the AthleteHUB and support Canadian athletes on their journey to excellence.”

Nicolas Rouleau - AthleteHUB Project Manager

With over 20 years of combined experience creating apps and websites – including five years working with nonprofits – Bound State’s commitment to creating change in the sports industry is reflected in Ballhop, a mobile app designed for soccer coaches to communicate with their athletes on fee payments, scheduling and game-day rosters.

"Our national team athletes are incredible at what they do, in part for their laser-like focus. They shouldn't have to waste time searching through endless websites to find crucial information. That's why we're thrilled to join forces with AthletesCAN to create the AthleteHUB, a game-changing solution that will empower Canadian national team athletes to effortlessly access the resources they need to achieve their sporting dreams."
