TORONTO – AthletesCAN, the association of Canada’s national team athletes, released the following statement in response to the recently-announced independent review of Rugby Canada’s high performance programs.
AthletesCAN is encouraged by the independent review of Rugby Canada’s high-performance programs and the transparency demonstrated throughout the report. The first step in solving a problem is to acknowledge its existence and to evaluate it with honesty, sincerity and without any biases.
These findings illustrate a discouraging situation within the NSO, but we are encouraged by the report’s level of detail. We are optimistic that this can be a platform to transform the culture within the organization.
